it was in a village near Tunxi, in china still. my lens was humid again... too much taxi-aircond -> hot air passages

we stayed there for... like... 4 hours. one of my favourite places with zhouzhuang and pingyao

scan of negative, converted in b&w with ps, contrast lowered, it was overexposed. and it still is. yeah i suck i know. eesh.

That one's very peaceful. Usually, that sort of camera angle, taking in the dark walls, would suggest something sneaking up on him, but it just looks like he's in his element, he's secure. The black-and-white tone and lowered contrast you've used really suit it, in that regard. It's lovely.

thank you :) :) in fact, he was painting the street i was in, because as you can see, there's a wall in front of him. i wondered first how he could paint without seeing in front of him, but in fact he was just turning his head on the left :)

it wouldve been more interesting if he painted what was behind the wall, but no. :P

Yeah, I like the idea of him lurking behind the wall, like you can only see him from this one particular angle... the "hidden painter" painting you unawares... kind of like a pre-electronic security camera or something!
